What character should be avoided when adding listings?
The County Calendar site has been designed to be XHTML 1.0 Transitional
complient. This has been done in order to help improve cross browser
and platform compatibility. In order words it should work well with
Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari and with hardware like
PC, WII, PlayStation, iPhone etc.
The impact of this is that certain characters can cause minor errors.
We check all submission automatically and try to make sure that
any characters that should not be used are replaced with alternatives.
The main issue we find is with the use of the ampersand or 'and'
symbol, which we replace with the 'and' word.
